Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to build and operate shared infrastructure for a globally distributed environment in the Netherlands. You will work hands-on with bare-metal, Linux, Kubernetes and cloud tech to enable teams to deploy, operate, and scale services.

You’ll own platform decisions, enhance observability, reliability and developer experience, and contribute to IaC, CI/CD and internal tooling using Go, Python and Bash in a small autonomous team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with large-scale Linux infrastructure.
• Hands-on Kubernetes in production environments.
• Experience building platform tooling and automation for engineers.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and core infra concepts.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD practices.
• Ownership of production observability, metrics, logs, and runbooks.
• Engineering tools and automation using Go, Python, or Bash.
• Production databases experience (PostgreSQL, Redis, etc.).
• Ability to make pragmatic infra choices and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and build self-service platform capabilities for deployment and operation.
• Shape workload deployment practices including GitOps workflows.
• Develop and maintain global hybrid infrastructure (bare-metal, Linux, containers, Kubernetes).
• Automate repetitive tasks and transform infra challenges into reusable tools.
• Ensure scalability, resilience, and reliability of platform systems.
• Improve observability with metrics, logs, alerts, and runbooks.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to reduce platform friction.
• Own systems in production and participate in follow-the-sun on-call rotation.
• Contribute to IaC, CI/CD, and deployment automation.
• Build internal tooling using Go, Python, and Bash.
• Operate production databases and related infra as needed.
• Contribute to security, identity, and compliance initiatives.
• Guide decisions on bare metal vs Kubernetes vs managed services.
• Continuously improve platform architecture and developer experience.
