Wellis is a healthtech scale-up building core platform components in a fast-paced, AI-enabled environment. The Backend Engineer will redesign the API layer, shape data models for clinical workflows, and implement business logic for prescriptions and medication records.

You’ll work across SQL/NoSQL stores and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship impactful features. The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, deployment discipline, and a strong focus on healthcare data integrity,

Qualifications

• 4+ years backend engineering experience.
• Strong Node/TypeScript and API design basics.
• End-to-end deployment experience from schema to production.
• Experience with regulated data in healthcare or similar.

Responsibilities

• Redesign internal Node/TypeScript API layer for web and mobile.
• Own the data schema for patient management, prescriptions, and devices.
• Implement business logic for prescription workflows and medication records.
• Develop agentic tooling and AI workflows for the team.
• Integrate with billing, logistics, and ERP systems.
