Job summary

ScaleOps Search Ltd is partnering with an established financial services organisation in Amsterdam to recruit a Senior Microsoft Infrastructure Engineer. The role is hands-on, focusing on stability, security and ongoing modernisation of backend Microsoft infrastructure across on‑premises and Azure environments.

You will own Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy and automation via PowerShell, collaborating with security and cloud teams in a hybrid setup with roughly two days per

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience administering, maintaining and troubleshooting Windows Server infrastructure.
• Strong expertise in Active Directory Domain Services, Group Policy, DNS and related core Microsoft services.
• PowerShell scripting and automation capabilities.
• Experience with Windows Server patching, security hardening and infrastructure lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Experience with Microsoft System Center technologies, SCCM/MECM.
• Exposure to VMware or other enterprise virtualization technologies.
• Previous experience within financial services or other highly regulated environments.
• Exposure to Azure DevOps pipelines or infrastructure automation tooling.

Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain and troubleshoot enterprise Windows Server environments.
• Administer and support Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and associated Microsoft infrastructure services.
• Investigate and resolve complex infrastructure incidents, identifying root causes and implementing long‑term solutions.
• Maintain platform security through patch management, system hardening, vulnerability remediation and ongoing improvements.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate administration, streamline operations and improve efficiency.
• Support infrastructure monitoring, capacity management, disaster recovery and business continuity.
• Contribute to infrastructure upgrades, migrations and platform lifecycle management.
• Support hybrid infrastructure environments and participate in ongoing Microsoft Azure modernisation initiatives.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud and security teams to deliver reliable, secure and scalable technical solutions.
• Share technical knowledge and contribute to best practices within the engineering team.
