SWITCH is seeking a senior software engineer to design, build, test, and maintain Java-based backend services in a complex, high-tech setting. You will shape microservice architectures, REST APIs, and scalable systems within a hybrid Brainport region team.

Responsibilities include collaborating across stakeholders, delivering reliable concurrent software, and supporting containerized deployments with CI/CD and cloud enhancements.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in Java backend development.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, microservices, REST APIs, concurrency, state machines, and software architecture.
• Hands-on experience with container orchestration platforms like Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java-based backend services.
• Build and improve microservice architectures and RESTful APIs.
• Work on complex systems with multiple integrations, external interfaces, and application states.
• Develop reliable concurrent software with a focus on quality and maintainability.
