Job description

In this role, you support customers in creating and integrating system control software for high-tech equipment in the semiconductor, analytical, and medical technology industries within the Brainport region and beyond. A senior software engineer is sought to design, build, test, and maintain backend systems in a complex technical environment. The role focuses on Java-based microservices, system architecture, integrations, and high software quality.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java-based backend services.
• Build and improve microservice architectures and RESTful APIs.
• Work on complex systems with multiple integrations, external interfaces, and application states.
• Develop reliable concurrent software with a strong focus on quality and maintainability.
• Support containerized applications and deployment workflows.
• Contribute to CI/CD, cloud, and operational improvements.
• Collaborate with different stakeholders in a dynamic technical environment.

What you bring

• Senior-level experience in Java backend development.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, microservices, REST APIs, concurrency, state machines, and software architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes or similar container orchestration platforms.
• Experience with Maven, Git, Linux, networking, and shell scripting.
• Familiarity with message brokers, web proxies, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience integrating Java with other languages or technical environments is a plus.

• €5,000 – €6,250 gross per month, based on a 40-hour full-time work week, depending on experience
• 28 vacation days, with the option to purchase additional leave.
