Job summary

Software Search in The Randstad is seeking a Java Engineer to join a dynamic consultancy. You'll work on diverse projects such as mobility platforms, energy software, or mobile banking apps, in short sprints at client sites and internal projects.

You will collaborate with the commercial team, guide technical choices, and contribute to architectural improvements. A strong Java/JVM background, cloud and container experience, and excellent communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Completed higher professional or university degree in a technical field.
• Minimum five years of relevant work experience.
• Fluent Dutch, both spoken and written (C1).
• Expertise in Java or other JVM languages (Kotlin/Scala).
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud).
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Spring Boot and Quarkus.
• Experience building REST endpoints using OpenAPI principles.
• Ability to test code at unit and integration levels.
• Knowledge of Kafka or RabbitMQ and event-driven microservices.
• Strong willingness to learn, share knowledge, and explain complex topics clearly.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to make clear agreements.

Responsibilities

• Join a dynamic consultancy and work on varied client projects in short sprints.
• Collaborate with the commercial team to select fitting projects.
• Develop and maintain scalable Java-based solutions for mobility, energy, or banking sectors.
• Advise stakeholders on technical improvements and best practices.
