Job summary

YO AI Labs in the Netherlands seeks a Senior Java Backend Developer to design, develop, and scale backend services in a hybrid environment. You will own RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-native components using AWS, DynamoDB, Spring Boot, and distributed systems practices.

The role requires 7–12 years of hands-on Java experience, strong problem-solving, and a track record delivering high-volume software.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in Java backend development.
• Proficiency in Java 8/11/17+ with OOP and design patterns.
• Hands-on Spring Boot and microservices design/implementation.
• Experience designing REST APIs with validation and error handling.
• AWS cloud-native development experience.
• Strong NoSQL/DynamoDB schema design and optimization.
• Version control with Git and best practices.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Knowledge of performance optimization and scalability.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools like Grafana.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain microservices-based architectures and RESTful APIs for high-volume traffic.
• Develop cloud-native apps leveraging AWS services.
• Design and optimize DynamoDB schemas and NoSQL data models.
• Write clean, maintainable code and conduct code reviews.
• Debug, tune performance, and ensure system reliability across distributed environments.
• Implement monitoring with Grafana and related tools.
• Collaborate with product, QA and DevOps to deliver secure, scalable solutions.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and SDLC documentation.
