Job summary

Planon is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to own monthly closings, financial reporting, and tax processes across multiple jurisdictions in a dynamic, international environment.

In this hands-on role you will improve controls, support audits, and collaborate with Accounting & Control and external advisors, while embracing AI-driven automation to optimise finance operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• Relevant experience in Finance or Tax is required.
• Affinity with technology, automation and AI-driven tools within finance operations.
• Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP; IFRS is a plus.
• Experience with SaaS/services-based business models is a plus.
• Proactive, communicative, and solution-oriented mindset.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities, including revenue recognition.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring data is complete, accurate, and compliant with group standards.
• Prepare monthly financial results and provide accurate data for group reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Analyze financial variances and provide insights to management.
• Support statutory and internal audits and ensure financial transactions and controls are documented in a timely manner.
• Act as the first point of contact for operational tax matters and ensure local tax filing obligations and deadlines are met.
• Identify and support improvements in accounting processes, controls, standardisation, and efficiency, including AI and other innovations.

Shared Services - Finance - Senior Financial Accountant

As a Senior Financial Accountant at Planon, you are responsible for and take ownership for accurate and timely financial reporting within a dynamic and international environment. In addition to this you will be in the lead for execution and monitoring of the group’s tax processes across multiple jurisdictions.

You play a key role in the monthly closing process, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and group standards. This is a hands‑on role with a strong focus on execution, control, and continuous improvement. You not only deliver but also review, challenge, and improve financial processes, controls, and outputs. You will work closely with your colleagues in the Accounting & Control team and external advisors to ensure timely and accurate tax compliance, while supporting tax reporting and documentation activities.

What will you do?

Accounting & Closing

Execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities, including revenue recognition.

Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring financial data is complete, accurate, and compliant with group standards.

Salary range: EUR 4,000 - EUR 6,000 gross per month, depending on experience. This range reflects a good faith estimate of the expected compensation for this role, based on objective, role-related criteria. The total compensation package includes variable compensation and additional benefits.
