Job summary

Planet Pharma is seeking a Senior Accountant for its Amsterdam office to lead end‑to‑end accounting across several European entities. The role requires strong Dutch GAAP knowledge and hands‑on experience with month‑end, statutory reporting, VAT, and intercompany processes.

You will manage invoices, journals, reconciliations, consolidations, and regulatory filings while coordinating with external advisors and auditors to drive efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
• 5–7+ years of experience in financial accounting, ideally in international/multi-entity environments.
• Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP.
• Experience with month-end close, statutory reporting, VAT, and intercompany accounting.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Fluent Dutch and English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end accounting for multiple European legal entities.
• Process invoices, bank transactions, expenses, and payment runs.
• Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, commissions, and intercompany transactions.
• Perform bank, balance sheet, inventory, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
• Support group reporting and multi-entity consolidations.
• Coordinate statutory financial statements with local providers.
• Review VAT, Intrastat and indirect tax processes with external advisors.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and accurate records.
• Manage relationships with external accountants, tax advisors, and auditors across Europe.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.

• Prepare and post journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, commissions, and intercompany transactions.
• Perform bank, balance sheet, inventory, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
• Support group reporting and multi-entity consolidations.
• Coordinate statutory financial statements with local accounting providers.
• Review VAT returns, Intrastat submissions, and indirect tax processes in collaboration with external advisors.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and ensure accurate accounting records.
• Manage relationships with external accountants, tax advisors, and auditors across several European countries.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.

About You

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• 5–7+ years' experience in financial accounting, ideally within an international or multi-entity environment.
• Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP
• Experience with month-end close, statutory reporting, VAT, and intercompany accounting.
• Experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Fluent Dutch and English language skills
