Job description

Our client is a growing international organisation specialising in centralised procurement and the global standardisation of IT infrastructure. As the company continues to expand, a strong and well‑organised Finance function is essential to support sustainable growth and informed business decisions.

They are looking for a Financial Controller who enjoys working with numbers, brings structure and accuracy to their work, and can turn financial data into meaningful insights. In this role, you will play an important part in strengthening the financial foundation of the organisation and supporting the business as it continues to grow internationally.

Responsibilities/Tasks:

As Financial Controller, you will be a key member of the Finance team and a trusted partner to the CFO. You will be responsible for the quality, reliability and integrity of the financial administration and reporting, while helping to further strengthen the organisation’s financial control framework.

You will combine strong technical accounting knowledge with a pragmatic and hands-on approach. Working closely with the Assistant Controller, Business Controller and wider Finance team, you will help improve processes, strengthen financial controls and contribute to the further development of the team.

As the organisation continues to grow, you will also play an important role in building a scalable Finance function that can support the business effectively in an international environment.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting the CFO on financial, accounting, control and governance matters, and proactively identifying financial risks.
  • Managing and improving financial control processes, accounting procedures and internal controls.
  • Preparing periodic financial reports, analyses and management information.
  • Coordinating month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations.
  • Monitoring financial performance, investigating variances and translating data into clear business insights.
  • Contributing to budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
  • Overseeing cost control, accounts payable and other key finance processes.
  • Preparing audit documentation and supporting internal and external audits.
  • Identifying opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate processes, including further development of the ERP and reporting environment.
  • Working with colleagues across the organisation to provide financial guidance and strengthen financial awareness.
Requirements:
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in financial control, accounting or a similar finance role, preferably within a Dutch organisation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Solid knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, reconciliations and internal controls.
  • Fluent in both Dutch and English.
  • Accurate, analytical and well‑organised, with the ability to work effectively under deadlines.
  • Able to translate financial data into clear, practical insights and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Proactive, hands-on and comfortable taking ownership and identifying improvements.
  • Comfortable working with confidential information in an international, fast-growing environment.
What you get (or can get):
  • A salary at par with the market + commissions + 8% holiday allowance
  • A permanent contract from the start
  • An attractive pension plan: the premium percentage for the pension plan is 15%, and the employee/employer split is 50/50
  • International feel in a multicultural team across several countries
  • An exciting workplace that includes, among other perks, a company gym, a free weekly group professional trainer on site, and an attractive company lunch plan
  • The opportunity to help shape and grow an international ITAD business
  • A highly entrepreneurial environment with a lot of ownership and freedom
