Job summary

NES Fircroft in Breda seeks an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our production site. You will support engineering projects, deploy new equipment, and drive electrical safety and compliance within a GMP manufacturing setting.

As the Installation Responsible Person and electrical SME, you will lead safety inspections, maintain documentation, and collaborate across Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to ensure reliable, safe operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant engineering experience, including 5+ years in manufacturing/ops.
• Appointed Installation Responsible Person (IV) under NEN 3140.
• Strong knowledge of NEN-EN-IEC 60204-1 and NEN 3140 and Dutch safety regulations.
• Experience managing engineering and CAPEX projects.
• Experience in regulated environments (GMP/pharma/biotech/food/chemical).
• Knowledge of ISO 13849-1 and/or IEC 62061 is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support engineering projects for new products, equipment installations, and system upgrades in packaging and labeling operations.
• Act as electrical SME for Maintenance & Engineering and project teams.
• Serve as Installation Responsible Person (IV) in the assigned production area.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations and company procedures.
• Manage electrical maintenance, including preventive and corrective programs.

• Review modifications for safety, quality, and GMP alignment.
• Write test protocols, perform evaluations, and prepare assessment reports.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting engineering projects, deploying new equipment and system upgrades, ensuring electrical safety compliance, and serving as the electrical expert within the Maintenance & Engineering team. You will work in a highly regulated environment, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient production operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support engineering projects involving new products, equipment installations, and system upgrades within packaging and labelling operations.
• Act as the electrical subject matter expert for Maintenance & Engineering and project teams.
• Serve as the appointed Installation Responsible Person (IV) within the assigned production area.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, standards, and company procedures.
• Manage and oversee electrical maintenance activities, including preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Coordinate and follow up on electrical safety inspections, including NEN 3140 and NEN-EN-IEC 60204-1 requirements.
• Review and maintain electrical documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of complex electrical and equipment-related issues.
• Review electrical modifications and ensure alignment with safety, quality, and GMP requirements.
• Write test protocols, perform technical evaluations, and prepare technical assessment reports.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Automation, Validation, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and external vendors.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support operational excellence across the site.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant engineering experience, including at least 5 years within a manufacturing or operations environment.
• Strong electrical engineering expertise and practical troubleshooting experience.
• Demonstrated experience as an appointed Installation Responsible Person (IV) under NEN 3140.
• Strong knowledge of NEN-EN-IEC 60204-1, NEN 3140, and Dutch electrical safety regulations.
• Experience managing engineering and/or CAPEX projects.
• Experience working in a regulated environment such as GMP, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food, or chemical manufacturing.
• Knowledge of ISO 13849-1 and/or IEC 62061 is considered an advantage.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluent in English and Dutch (Dutch proficiency is mandatory).
• Willingness to occasionally work outside standard office hours when required.
