Job summary

Super Micro Computer is seeking a (Sr.) Project Manager to lead pre- and post-technical sales activities for onsite server rack installations at data centers. You will work closely with Engineering, Sales and Extended teams to ensure design proposals meet customer requirements.

Qualifications include a Civil/Computer/Electrical Engineering background with 8+ years in project management focused on rack installations, strong data center deployment knowledge, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering/Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of experience in project management or program management, with a significant portion of that experience dedicated to onsite server rack installations at customer data centers.
• Strong understanding of data center infrastructure and deployment and proven track record in managing projects in this domain.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills; ability to communicate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams regarding onsite server rack installation support.
• Willingness to travel heavily and ad hoc for customer meetings, site surveys, and onsite server rack deployments.
• Strong proficiency in English; French is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer requirements and project scopes, including onsite server rack installations at data centers.
• Produce design proposals and delivery plans tailored to onsite installations.
• Coordinate with purchasing teams to prepare materials for server rack deployments.
• Ensure prototypes and mass production timelines align with installation needs.
• Provide status updates to stakeholders on project progress and risks.
• Participate in customer meetings to discuss timelines and deployment requirements.
• Review project status in regular meetings and streamline onsite installation processes.
• Ensure installation processes adhere to industry standards and best practices.
• Conduct site surveys to tailor rack systems to environments.
• Coordinate logistics of server rack deliveries and installations with customer IT and facilities teams.
• Oversee physical installation and ensure proper placement and cable management.
• Troubleshoot issues during onsite deployments and coordinate with technical teams.
