Job summary

Booking.com is seeking a Controller for Global Indirect Tax to lead VAT compliance and related accounting. The role sits in the Global Accounting organization and requires strong knowledge of US GAAP, multinational experience, and SAP proficiency.

Based in Amsterdam, you will collaborate with teams in India and EY, driving tax projects and process improvements. You will build internal networks with Tax and Finance stakeholders, coach colleagues, and play a key role in new indirect tax

Qualifications

• University degree in Accounting/Business/Economics and/or RA/CPA.
• 5–7 years of experience in finance/accounting, preferably in tax accounting in a multinational environment.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
• Experience in international, matrix organizations and cross‑functional projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to persuade and influence.
• Strong IT experience in financial systems, including SAP.

Responsibilities

• Manage global indirect tax compliance and related accounting.
• Lead global indirect VAT compliance process.
• Drive standardisation, automation and simplification of tasks.
• Identify, follow-up, initiate and prioritise process improvements.
• Liaise with Financial Controllers and Tax Managers daily and align on priorities.
• Partner with other stakeholders/departments.
• Provide coaching and development for team members.
