Job summary

Eneco’s Large Projects organization seeks a BESS Engineering Expert to drive engineering delivery for utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems across Europe. You translate battery technology into safe, reliable engineering solutions and connect BESS with electrical, civil, control, fire-safety and operations requirements.

You will define technical requirements, review supplier proposals, and support investment decisions.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable technical discipline.
• At least three years of relevant experience with utility-scale BESS, power systems or large-scale energy infrastructure.
• Experience in engineering, consultancy, supplier, contractor or project delivery environments.
• Knowledge of BESS functionality, performance, safety requirements and technical interfaces.
• Professional proficiency in English; Dutch is a strong advantage or willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Define technical concepts, requirements and engineering deliverables for utility-scale BESS projects.
• Translate BESS functionality into electrical, civil, controls, fire-safety and operational requirements.
• Review supplier proposals, designs and contract documentation during tendering and execution.
• Support investment decisions with technical assessments, cost inputs, risk analyses and advice.
• Manage technical interfaces between the BESS, grid connection, control systems and other project disciplines.
• Support construction, commissioning, performance testing and technical acceptance.
• Advise project and operational teams on performance, reporting, warranties and system limitations.
