Job summary

Fluence Energy in Amsterdam is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer – Services to lead control-system activities on Battery Energy Storage System projects during the operations phase. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Automation/Controls engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of controls/automation experience in power/energy sectors.
• Experience with grid codes, EMS, and grid-connected systems.
• Ability to resolve complex technical issues and implement corrective actions.
• Knowledge of control algorithms and software lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Services team delivering BESS control system requirements and ensure alignment with specs and customer expectations.
• Serve as controls SME for customers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders throughout the service lifecycle.
• Support LTSA execution by ensuring controls compliance and leading grid code testing across EMEA sites.
• Collaborate with Field Service Engineers to identify, analyze, and resolve control/software issues.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute software/firmware upgrades with testing and rollback processes.
• Perform RCA and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve reliability.
• Drive product improvements using data analysis and technical investigations.
• Maintain change-management processes and documentation of releases and configurations.
• Travel up to 10% within Europe as required.
