Job summary

Jobgether in the Netherlands is seeking a (Senior) Product Engineer (Backend) to build scalable SaaS backend services using Kotlin or Java, within a cross-functional squad.

You’ll own features end-to-end, collaborate with PMs, designers, and engineers, and apply AI coding tools to accelerate development.

The role offers remote-first flexibility across the EU, with occasional in-person touchpoints in Berlin or Stuttgart per the posted benefits.

Qualifications

• Backend development experience with Kotlin or Java in SaaS.
• Experience with Micronaut or Spring.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Helm, PostgreSQL, and messaging systems.
• Willingness to contribute to frontend, mobile, or infra when needed.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain reliable backend services using Kotlin/Java and modern web frameworks.
• Own features from discovery through rollout and impact evaluation.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering to ship high-quality experiences.
• Contribute to other areas of the product stack when needed.
• Leverage AI coding tools to navigate codebases and prototype solutions.
• Support deployment and infrastructure practices including Kubernetes and messaging systems.
