Job summary

SCOR Digital Solutions in Rotterdam is seeking a senior Software Engineer to advance the RAS backend platform. This role focuses on Ruby on Rails within a backend MVC stack, with opportunities to influence end-to-end delivery and AI-assisted development workflows.

The candidate will design, implement, test, and maintain backend services, collaborate across teams, and contribute to CI/CD and production reliability. Hybrid work in Rotterdam is offered with a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong in at least one MVC backend framework; Ruby on Rails preferred.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and relational databases.
• Demonstrated ability to use AI tooling to augment development workflows.
• Proven manual competency: design, code, test, and debug without AI assistance.
• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Frontend experience with JavaScript/React/TypeScript is a plus.
• Experience building or integrating LLM-based agents or agentic workflows is a plus.
• Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes and cloud CI/CD tooling is a plus.
• End-to-end ownership from delivery through production is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services in Ruby on Rails or an equivalent MVC framework.
• Support architectural planning for new features and systems.
• Manage agentic AI agents within the RAS platform.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to deliver end-to-end features.
• Implement and maintain automated testing with AI tooling where possible.
• Conduct code reviews using AI-assisted tooling with manual quality checks.
• Contribute to database design and optimization.
• Automate CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes with AI where viable.
• Participate in incident response and production troubleshooting.
• Maintain technical documentation with AI-assisted drafting and manual review.
