Shypple in Rotterdam is seeking a senior backend developer to scale our shipping platform. You’ll focus on Ruby on Rails, design scalable services, and own backend features end-to-end within a compact squad. The role emphasizes performance, reliability, and engineering discipline.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend development experience.
• Extensive Ruby on Rails experience preferred; other backends accepted.
• Strong PostgreSQL knowledge and SQL optimization.
• Fluent English communication.
• Willingness to relocate to the Netherlands.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain clean, efficient Ruby code.
• Own backend features end-to-end in Rails API from domain modelling to endpoints and tests.
• Drive technical evolution of a core domain.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and deploy a high-performance application.
• Contribute to platform and architecture decisions: scalability, performance, and reducing tech debt.
• Raise the engineering bar through code review and testing discipline.
