Job summary

EMEA Recruitment is seeking a Senior Accountant on behalf of a leading business services client in Amsterdam. The role covers full-cycle bookkeeping, financial reporting and collaboration with internal stakeholders across an international client portfolio.

The Senior Accountant will prepare statements under Dutch GAAP and IFRS, manage CIT/VAT returns, and coordinate audits, while engaging with shareholders and external parties in a dynamic global environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting, Finance, Business Economics, or similar.
• 4–6+ years of relevant experience in financial services, audits or similar roles.
• Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP; IFRS knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and manage complex bookkeeping under Dutch GAAP and IFRS.
• Review client-specific monthly and quarterly reporting, including dividends distributions and capital contribution requests.
• Review and coordinate Corporate Income Tax (CIT) and Value Added Tax (VAT) returns.
• Prepare audit files and assist external auditors during statutory audits.
• Maintain active communication with shareholders, client entities, banks and other key external stakeholders.

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant

• Prepare financial statements and manage complex bookkeeping under Dutch GAAP and IFRS principles
• Review and prepare client-specific monthly and quarterly reporting, including dividend distributions and capital contribution requests
• Review and coordinate Corporate Income Tax (CIT) and Value Added Tax (VAT) returns
• Prepare audit files and act as the key contact point to assist external auditors during statutory audits
• Maintain active communication with shareholders, client entities, banks, and other key external stakeholders

Experience required

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting, Finance, Business Economics, or similar
• 4-6+ years’ relevant experience (preferably within trust services, an audit firm, or financial services)
• Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP (IFRS knowledge is a plus)
