Job summary

A global retail company in Venlo, Netherlands, is seeking an Accounting Specialist to manage month-end close processes and intercompany transactions. The ideal candidate will have over 4 years of experience in accounting within a multi-entity environment and a strong understanding of month-end procedures. Knowledge of IFRS or local GAAP, familiarity with ERP systems (preferably SAP), and proficiency in Excel are required. This role will also involve preparing audit-ready financials and ensuring data accuracy.

You will be responsible for accurate and timely Accounting across multiple entities, ensuring clean ledgers, reconciled balances, and reliable data for reporting.

This role is key to delivering a smooth month-end close and audit‑ready financials.

Responsibilities of the Accounting Specialist

• Manage the month‑end close process and review offshore team output
• Monitor and reconcile intercompany transactions
• Validate data in consolidation systems and explain variances
• Prepare audit‑ready financials, reconciliations, and supporting documents
• Liaise with auditors and respond to queries
• Use ERP and reporting tools to support accounting processes
• Drive process improvements and efficiency

Requirements

• 4+ years of Accounting experience in a multi‑entity environment
• Strong knowledge of month‑end close and intercompany accounting
• Familiar with IFRS or local GAAP
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Excel
• Detail‑oriented, well‑organized, and able to apply accounting policies in practice
