Job summary

The British School in the Netherlands (BSN) in Voorschoten is seeking a Science Technician to support the delivery of our science curriculum, full-time or part-time. The role focuses on Chemistry or Physics expertise to aid the Senior School Voorschoten campus and its science program.

You will assist with lesson preparation, stock management, equipment maintenance, health & safety compliance and the development of specialist resources for Biology, Chemistry and Physics teaching across year

Qualifications

Experience working in a laboratory environment with a strong understanding of Health & Safety.
Proficient in English (written and spoken).
Knowledge of Dutch is an advantage; a science-related qualification and secondary school experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare for lessons, contribute to trials, and support demonstrations and practical experiments.
Ensure safe handling and disposal of materials, reporting hazards to staff as needed.
Maintain stock levels and secure safe storage of equipment and materials.
Carry out routine and non-routine equipment checks, calibration, testing and repairs.
Assist in designing and maintaining specialist resources and long-term projects.
Stay up-to-date with health and safety procedures through CPD.
