Job summary

The Rijnlands Lyceum Foundation invites applications for a Temporary Lab Assistant for Sciences in The Hague. You will support Biology and Integrated Science, and assist in Physics or Chemistry when needed, in a collaborative, multicultural environment.

The role is 0.6 FTE, with a pro rata salary between 2672€ and 3610€; contract extends to July 2026 with potential extension. Start ASAP in a dynamic international school setting.

Qualifications

• Biology or related sciences knowledge with demonstrable competencies.
• Chemistry and Physics knowledge in a school setting is desirable.
• Excellent knowledge of English (spoken and written).
• Experience as a technical teaching assistant in secondary education is desirable.
• Familiar with safety measures and classroom safety rules.
• Good ICT skills in an educational context.

Responsibilities

• Prepare experiments and practical demonstrations.
• Test experiments to ensure they run in class when needed.
• Consult with teachers and provide input on practical experiments.
• Advise on safety measures and classroom safety rules.
• Carry out minor repairs to equipment or materials.
• Manage stock and order materials.
• Attend meetings with teachers and other TOAs.
• Keep a well-ordered, clean laboratory with clearly labelled inventory.
