Job summary

Flow Traders is seeking an experienced Rust Software Engineer to join the Digital Assets Technology team in Amsterdam. The role offers a hybrid work model based in Amsterdam, focusing on scalable, low-latency on-chain trading systems and real-time data processing.

You will work with trading desks, researchers, and engineers to deliver high-performance infrastructure, optimize concurrency, and ensure robust security across backend services.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of commercial software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Rust, core language for on‑chain infrastructure.
• Solid knowledge of back-end architecture, distributed systems, microservices, and event‑driven designs.
• Experience with performance tuning, concurrency, and low-latency applications.
• Familiarity with infrastructure tools and environments (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Bonus: Blockchain/DeFi development, Web3 tools, on-chain data analysis, security practices.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with trading desks to build scalable, low-latency on-chain trading systems.
• Develop and maintain high-performance real-time trading infrastructure using Rust.
• Contribute to event-driven architectures and distributed systems handling large streaming data.
• Support DEX trading infrastructure, including smart contracts, indexers, and protocol integrations.
• Ensure high availability, low latency, and strong security of backend services.
• Work with researchers and traders to automate and accelerate workflows for the Digital Assets desk.
• Follow best practices in software engineering with modern tooling and cross-team collaboration.
