Job summary

MediaMarkt Benelux offers an internship in Bonus Controlling in Rotterdam, supporting the team to improve supplier bonus revenue processes and gain hands-on experience in financial controlling, data analysis and reporting, contributing to Finance projects.

You are a motivated student in Finance or a related field with strong numerical skills, Excel proficiency, and a proactive mindset. English is required; Dutch is a plus. Power BI and automation experience are beneficial.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics or related field.
• Strong affinity for numbers, financial data and analytical problem-solving.
• Good Excel skills and interest in developing reporting and data analysis capabilities.
• Work accurately, systematically and with attention to detail.
• Take initiative, think critically and identify improvement opportunities.
• Clear communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
• Good command of English; Dutch is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Financial reconciliation: Support reconciliation of supplier bonus agreements, accruals, invoices and receivables.
• Data analysis: Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies, outstanding balances and risks or improvements.
• Reporting and dashboards: Develop and improve Excel-based reporting tools, dashboards and financial controls.
• Process improvement: Map and document processes and propose standardisation/automation opportunities.
• Data quality: Improve consistency and transparency of financial data across systems.
• Stakeholder collaboration: Work with finance stakeholders to investigate differences and support issue resolution.
• Project recommendations: Translate findings into practical recommendations and improve reporting or reconciliation tools.
