Job summary

Jobgether is helping a partner company in the Netherlands hire a Middle Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails) for a fully remote role. You will own core backend systems, deliver features end-to-end, and apply AI-driven methods to accelerate delivery while ensuring reliability and maintainability.

You will work in an international team, maintain critical services, and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices and production operations. English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of professional experience in backend or full-stack software development.
• Proven hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails in production.
• 2–5 years of solid experience with relational databases, SQL, and query design.
• Experience using AI coding agents and validating AI-generated code.
• Strong fundamentals in software engineering, maintainability, debugging, and production development.
• Experience with automated tests, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven track record delivering high-quality production features and ownership of their performance.
• Excellent written and spoken English for collaboration in an international team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, enhance, and develop backend systems powering the content platform.
• Deliver features end-to-end from planning to production and maintenance.
• Apply AI-first development practices to accelerate delivery and improve quality.
• Write and maintain automated tests and participate in code reviews.
• Keep CI/CD pipelines healthy and enable reliable deployments.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to meet business needs.
