Job summary

Remote is building the infrastructure for global payroll and employment. The Manager, Payroll Operations leads a team of payroll specialists across multiple countries, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery in a remote, globally distributed setup.

You will implement and optimize processes, partner with stakeholders, and drive high performance in a remote-first culture. Fluency in English is required, with additional languages a plus.

Qualifications

• Proven experience owning payroll outcomes for a team in multi-country environments.
• Demonstrated people leadership capability with coaching and performance input.
• Ability to lead investigations and drive operational resolution.
• Able to clarify and consistently apply policies and controls.
• Experience recommending hiring profiles, team changes, and performance actions.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end payroll delivery for a defined group of countries, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and day-to-day leadership to payroll specialists.
• Lead investigations into payroll issues and drive resolution within authority.
• Provide input into performance ratings and recommend actions when required.
• Foster a safe, high-accountability team environment.
• Support critical global payroll implementation initiatives (country launches, vendor transitions).
• Identify risks early and work with cross-functional teams to mitigate them.
• Translate payroll complexity into clear guidance for stakeholders.
