Job description

Acre is proudly working with a renewable energy investor and developer to hire a Project Manager, to be based in Utrecht, Netherlands.

Since its inception, the company has grown quickly into becoming one of the leading renewable energy developers in Europe. To support their growth, they are looking for an experienced and confident project manager to oversee a portfolio of BESS projects.

This is a key appointment - you will be responsible for the overall success of the projects, and will oversee the due diligence process on the projects, coordinating between internal specialists, technical experts, and commercial managers. You must be a confident project leader in order to ensure that projects are kept on track and adhere to the project budget.

To be successful in this role, you must be a fluent Dutch speaker.

Key Responsibilities

• Once handed over by the projects from Project Developers, the Project Manager is responsible for leading, motivating, organising, and updating the project team on progress through regular team meetings.
• You will work with the Commercial Project Analyst to keep the financial model continuously updated to reflect the project's current financial status.
• You will manage internal approval processes (Channel Decision, Request for Investment, Call for Approval of Contracts, etc.) to ensure the project stays within approved frameworks and that no commitments are made outside the authorised RfI.
• You will be consulted and informed on all ongoing project contract negotiations (TSA, BoP, O&M, Grid Connection, PPA) and oversee the interface between all contracts.
• You will ensure the data room is compiled with all relevant documents for due diligence according to the schedule.
• You will be the first point of call for various senior stakeholders, including project investors.

What You'll Bring

• Extensive experience in managing cross-functional, high-value, and complex projects. Track record of successfully setting up and managing project processes and project governance frameworks.
• Demonstrating ability to lead in areas where you might not be a subject matter expert, but through influence and communication.
• Experience of project management/ late stages of project development within the renewables industry is highly welcomed, but not a requirement.
• You should demonstrate a track record of strong leadership and decision-making skills to steer the project team in critical situations.
• A proactive, solution-oriented mindset - someone who keeps asking questions until the root cause is found.
• You keep a critical eye on information presented to you - you challenge the information where necessary in order to identify risks that could delay projects and take appropriate actions to keep the projects back on track.
• Project management certification and training, such as PRINCE2 or PMQ, is highly desirable.
