Job summary

Forexx Group B.V. seeks a Project Lead Mechanical Engineering to lead complex mechanical engineering projects on high-end superyachts. You will guide an engineering team, manage budgets and ensure timely delivery of technical information and drawings for production.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical or maritime engineering, at least three years in project leadership, and excellent English communication in an international environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Maritime Engineering or a comparable technical discipline.
• Minimum three years of relevant work experience.
• Experience leading or coordinating mechanical engineering projects.
• Broad knowledge of mechanical installations and technical systems.

Job description

Lead the engineering of complex technical systems for high-end superyachts

Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer who is ready to combine technical responsibility with project leadership? For a leading international superyacht builder, we are looking for a Project Lead Mechanical Engineering.

In this position, you will lead challenging mechanical engineering projects for unique, fully customised superyachts. You will be responsible for the engineering of the technical systems on board and ensure that design, planning, budget, suppliers and production remain aligned throughout the project.

Every yacht is different. This means technically complex projects, short communication lines and plenty of opportunity to apply your engineering knowledge and leadership skills.

What will you do?

As Project Lead, you will coordinate an engineering team and manage the complete mechanical engineering scope within a yacht-building project.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating the engineering of engine rooms and other technical spaces;
• Supervising the engineering of propulsion systems, piping systems and other onboard technical installations;
• Ensuring the technical integration of systems within the luxury accommodation areas;
• Distributing and monitoring activities within the engineering team;
• Safeguarding the technical quality and manufacturability of the designs;
• Monitoring project planning, engineering budgets and overall progress;
• Ensuring that technical information and production drawings are available to Production and Procurement on time;
• Coordinating technical solutions with other engineering disciplines;
• Managing suppliers and verifying that systems and materials are delivered according to specification and schedule;
• Coordinating and monitoring technical approvals from the relevant authorities;
• Resolving technical issues during both the engineering and production phases;
• Remaining involved throughout the full project lifecycle, from initial engineering through to delivery of the yacht.

You will work closely with engineers, production teams, procurement specialists, suppliers and other engineering disciplines. As engineering and production are located close to one another, you will be able to see your designs come to life.

• A completed bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Maritime Engineering or a comparable technical discipline;

Experience within shipbuilding, yacht building, offshore engineering or a comparable project-driven technical environment is considered a strong advantage.

• A gross monthly salary between €4,451 and €6,100, depending on knowledge and experience;
