Job summary

Forexx Group in Amsterdam seeks a Senior Engineer Production Support to bridge engineering and production on luxury yacht projects. You will translate complex designs into feasible, high-quality outcomes and mentor engineers toward disciplined workmanship.

Expect close collaboration with production teams, subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring legislation, standards and weight/budget targets are met. This role offers a stable, contract-driven pathway with growth in a leading yacht builder.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years as an Engineer in shipbuilding or yacht construction.
  • Proficiency in 3D AutoCAD, Teamcenter and Cadmatic.
  • Strong command of English (spoken and written).
  • Experience in exterior engineering, moving equipment and integration.
  • Understanding of cable and panel planning, onboard systems, weight management, and budgeting.
  • Deep technical insight into yacht construction and production processes.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing detailed design, engineering, and 3D modeling to ensure precision and manufacturability.
  • Guiding and mentoring a team of engineers and apprentices through technical direction and inspections.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards, classification societies, and flag state requirements.
  • Identifying and resolving technical bottlenecks by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Reviewing and validating drawings and documentation before final release.
  • Supporting continuous improvement by developing and refining engineering standards and processes.
  • Coordinating with production teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to align on technical feasibility and execution.
  • Acting as the technical liaison between Engineering and Production to ensure seamless project delivery.

What you’ll be doing

As a Senior Engineer Production Support, you will ensure that engineering solutions are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in close alignment with production needs. You’ll act as the bridge between the engineering office and the shipyard floor, translating complex technical designs into feasible, high-quality outcomes.

Your profile:

  • Strong command of the English language (spoken and written)
