Job summary

A luxury yacht building company in Amsterdam is seeking an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to join their elite engineering team. About the Role

As an Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical execution of assigned project scopes ensuring world‑class standards in design, 3D modeling, and engineering documentation. You will work closely with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure the manufacturability, feasibility, and compliance of every yacht built.

Your expertise will help push the boundaries of craftsmanship and technology that define our next generation of superyachts.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and refine detailed engineering designs, 3D models, and technical drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with Class and Flag regulations and internal project specifications.
  • Conduct technical assessments to guarantee manufacturability and feasibility.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges, offering proactive solutions.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, production teams, and project leads to deliver high‑quality work on schedule.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Naval Engineering, Maritime Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in shipbuilding or yacht building.
  • Proficiency in 3D AutoCAD and preferably Siemens NX, Teamcenter, and Cadmatic.
  • Solid understanding of shipbuilding production and construction processes — you know how to bridge the gap between drawings and reality.
  • Strong analytical mindset, precision in your work, and a high standard for quality and results.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
Preferred Experience (Senior Level)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in yacht or shipbuilding.
  • Expertise in hull engineering, exterior engineering, equipment integration, and moving equipment.
  • Insight into onboard systems, weight management, and budgeting.
  • Deep technical understanding of production and construction processes within luxury yacht building.
  • Work on world‑class superyachts admired across the globe.
