Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Owner (Matchmaking & Relationship) based in Netherlands.

This role owns the post-purchase product experience, with a direct focus on helping paying customers reach meaningful value quickly. You’ll take end-to-end ownership of activation, matching, relevance, and engagement, from initial hypotheses through measurable results. The role combines product strategy, experimentation, customer journey design, personalization, and recommendation systems. You’ll identify bottlenecks and growth opportunities through data, research, and customer insights, then translate them into focused product improvements. Working closely with engineers, designers, analysts, and data specialists, you’ll move ideas into production and continuously iterate based on results. This is an opportunity to shape a discovery-driven product where matching quality and customer experience are central to product success.

Accountabilities
  • Own the post-purchase customer journey, focusing on helping paying customers reach a quality match as quickly as possible.
  • Optimize offer volume and presentation so customers receive an appropriate number of relevant options without being overwhelmed or underserved.
  • Improve recommendation relevance and customer trust in the options presented throughout the experience.
  • Increase the volume and quality of relevant invitations received by paying customers.
  • Improve the likelihood that new customers form a quality match during their first week.
  • Design engagement mechanics such as gamification, nudges, reminders, and conversation reactivation features that encourage customers to return.
  • Analyze matching parameters across user segments and use segmentation, personalization, and data enrichment to improve discovery and matching outcomes.
  • Identify bottlenecks and growth opportunities in the post-purchase journey using quantitative data, qualitative research, and product insight.
  • Translate opportunities into clear, testable hypotheses with defined success metrics and requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, analysts, and data/ML specialists to deliver product improvements efficiently.
  • Manage requirements, priorities, and timelines while maintaining predictable delivery.
  • Run A/B tests and other experiments, analyze product metrics and outcomes, and scale improvements that demonstrate meaningful results.
Requirements
  • Hands‑on B2C product management experience, particularly in customer experience, customer journey design, activation, onboarding, or first‑session experiences.
  • Experience working with discovery‑driven products involving large volumes of offers, listings, or potential matches.
  • Practical understanding of search or feed relevance, matching, recommendation systems, segmentation, personalization, and data‑enriched offers.
  • Experience in marketplaces, aggregators, dating or social discovery, real estate, classifieds, e‑commerce with large catalogs, or other discovery and recommendation‑focused products is highly relevant.
  • Strong ability to formulate product hypotheses, define clear requirements, and connect product initiatives to measurable outcomes.
  • Experience driving product delivery from concept through launch and iteration.
  • Practical knowledge of A/B testing and experimentation, including defining success metrics and validating results.
  • Comfortable combining qualitative and quantitative product research to identify customer needs and growth opportunities.
  • Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills with designers, analysts, engineers, and data specialists.
  • Strong understanding of product metrics and the ability to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Results‑oriented mindset focused on measurable impact rather than process for its own sake.
  • High level of ownership, initiative, and comfort working with changing priorities.
  • Clear, direct communication skills and the ability to make decisions in an evolving environment.
  • Ability to treat unsuccessful experiments as opportunities for learning and iteration.
Benefits
  • Fully remote, full‑time opportunity.
  • Initial compensation level or salary range shared with candidates during the recruitment process and before employment begins.
  • 28 calendar days of vacation per year.
  • 7 wellness days per year for personal needs, rest, or recovery.
  • Referral bonuses of up to $5,000 for successful candidate recommendations.
  • 50% coverage for professional training, international conferences, and professional meetings.
  • Corporate discounts for English‑language lessons.
  • Health support of up to $1,000 gross per year per employee when corporate medical insurance is not available, which can be used toward private health insurance or eligible medical expenses for the employee and close relatives.
  • Workplace equipment and support, including desk, chair, Wi‑Fi, and other essentials in offices or coworking locations, with reimbursement of up to $1,000 gross every three years for eligible remote workplace expenses.
  • Internal gamified recognition program offering rewards such as merchandise, team‑building activities, and massage certificates.
