Job description

Procurement Manager

Location & way of working: Amsterdam head office, minimum 4 days a week on-site, with occasional travel internationally

Reporting to: CFO

About Urban Gym Group

Urban Gym Group (UGG) is one of Europe’s fastest-growing premium fitness groups, operating 60+ clubs and studios across the Netherlands and the UK (and possibly more countries to come) through distinctive brands including TrainMore, Gymbox, Clubsportive, The CLB, RUSH, PILAT3S and TRIB3. We grow both organically and through acquisition, combining boutique-fitness energy with the discipline of a scaling, multi-brand operator. As we scale, smart procurement directly protects our margins and member experience, from gym equipment and club fit‑outs to energy, technology and services. The Procurement Manager makes sure we buy the right things, at the right price, from the right partners.

Our way of working

Given the fast-moving, young and dynamic environment we operate in, we believe we achieve more together, face to face. This is an on‑site role with a minimum of 4 days a week in the business, close to the team, the brands and the clubs we serve.

Purpose of the role

The Procurement Manager runs day-to-day sourcing and supplier management across the group. You analyse spend, negotiate contracts, onboard and manage suppliers, and partner with operations, facilities and brand teams to deliver cost savings and reliable supply without compromising quality. You bring structure and transparency to how UGG buys.

Key responsibilities
Sourcing & negotiation
  • Run sourcing processes (RFQs/RFPs) across categories such as build, maintenance, energy & utilities, IT & software, marketing services and facility supplies.
  • Negotiate prices, terms and service levels; deliver measurable savings and value.
  • Benchmark suppliers and prices to ensure UGG buys competitively across all brands.
Supplier & contract management
  • Onboard, evaluate and manage suppliers; maintain a clean, up-to-date supplier and contract database.
  • Monitor supplier performance against SLAs and resolve quality, delivery or pricing issues.
  • Track contract renewals and expiries; avoid auto-renewals that don’t serve the business.
Spend analysis & process
  • Analyse group spend to identify consolidation, standardisation and savings opportunities across brands.
  • Help build and improve procurement processes, policies and purchasing tooling as UGG scales.
  • Support new club openings and acquisitions with sourcing, supplier set‑up and harmonisation.
Partnering & compliance
  • Partner with operations, facilities, IT, marketing and finance to understand needs and align on requirements.
  • Ensure purchasing is compliant with internal policy, budgets and relevant regulations; support sustainable and responsible sourcing.
Collaboration
  • Manage and develop your colleague buyer, supporting their growth and day‑to‑day performance.
  • Act as an internal sparring partner on procurement tactics, sharing your expertise to lift the wider team, always aiming for a win‑win in our valuable partnerships.
What you bring
Must‑haves
  • 8+ years’ experience in procurement, purchasing or category management, ideally in multi‑site retail, leisure, hospitality or facilities.
  • Experience with AI or digital tools to automate purchasing, reporting and supplier analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Business, Supply Chain, Economics or related); NEVI 1/2 or equivalent is a plus.
  • Exposure to a scale‑up, PE‑backed or acquisitive environment.
  • Well‑organised, proactive, hands‑on and able to manage many suppliers and deadlines at once.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a sharp commercial, cost‑conscious mindset.
  • Analytical: comfortable working with spend data, Excel and procurement/ERP systems.
  • Experience working with P2P software and optimising the workflows (experience with Omnea is a pre).
  • Strong stakeholder and communication skills; fluent in English, Dutch is an advantage.
Nice‑to‑haves
  • Experience sourcing energy contracts or club fit‑out / construction.
  • Affinity with fitness, wellness or a healthy lifestyle.
What success looks like (first 12 months)
  • A clear view of group spend by category, supplier and brand.
  • Delivered, quantified savings on key categories through renegotiation and consolidation.
  • A clean supplier and contract database with no surprise auto‑renewals.
  • Smoother procurement support for club openings and integrations.
  • Strong collaboration with our trusted partners.
What we offer
  • A role with direct, visible impact on margins and member experience in a fast‑scaling fitness group.
  • A dynamic, entrepreneurial culture with real ownership and room to build.
  • Competitive salary and benefits, an energetic on‑site team culture, and — of course — access to our clubs.
