Job summary

Fastned is seeking a People Operations Manager to build the operational backbone of the People team across Europe. You will lead a team including People Ops Specialists and Payroll Lead, owning end-to-end HR processes and multi-country payroll, while driving automation and data integrity.

You will work directly with the People Director, aligning with Talent Acquisition and HRBP leadership to create a precise, scalable employee experience from onboarding to payroll.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of experience in the People Ops and Payroll landscape, with at least 5 years guiding and managing a team.
• Proven experience scaling and managing multi-country HR operations and payroll in a fast-paced, international environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Dutch labor law; experience with other European jurisdictions is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with HiBob or similar scalable HRIS/Payroll platforms, and Lattice.
• Ability to manage, challenge, and collaborate effectively with external payroll providers.
• Fluent in English; Dutch language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end employee lifecycle governance across EU markets and ensure scalable, compliant HR processes.
• Partner with Payroll Lead to manage multi-country payroll and drive automation improvements.
• Lead, coach, and develop the People Ops team, fostering autonomy and growth.
• Act as escalation point for complex payroll/regulatory changes and cross-border issues.
