Job summary

Jobgether is partnering to hire a Head of Payments & Identity in the Netherlands. You will build and run a major engineering domain overseeing payments, KYC/identity, anti-fraud, and core ledger, guiding about 30 engineers and leaders.

You’ll shape strategy, architecture, and operational excellence across a highly transactional, international environment. You will partner with Product, Finance, Compliance, Risk, and Ops to balance conversion, security, and regulatory needs while delivering

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a sizeable engineering organisation or multiple cross-functional teams.
• Experience scaling an engineering function, domain, or complex platform.
• Strong systems-thinking connecting journeys, flows, architecture, risk, and financials.
• Experience with complex integrations and mission-critical systems.
• Ability to guide senior technical leaders and set engineering standards.
• Excellent stakeholder management across Product, Finance, Compliance, Risk, Ops.

Responsibilities

• Build, scale, and lead the Payments, KYC/Identity, Anti-Fraud, and Core Ledger domain.
• Lead ~30 engineers and leaders; define structures, ownership, and reporting.
• Set domain strategy, target architecture, and roadmap with senior partners.
• Ensure reliable customer lifecycle interactions across identities, payments, and ledgers.
• Improve integrations with PSPs, KYC/AML vendors, and external partners.
• Establish standards for resilient, observable integrations with security controls.
• Balance onboarding, conversion with Anti-Fraud, AML, data protection, and monitoring.
• Provide reliable data, tools, and reporting for Finance, Compliance, Risk, Ops.
• Define engineering standards and evolve toward central Ledger architecture.
• Monitor KPIs for conversion, reliability, speed, fraud losses, and costs.
• Identify risks and drive architectural and leadership improvements.
• Align senior stakeholders and providers around priorities with clear ownership.
