Job description

Vesper is a commodity market intelligence platform for the food and beverage industry. Buyers, sellers and traders use it to see where prices sit today, where they are heading, and what that means for what they pay or charge. Dairy, oils, sugar, grains, cocoa, coffee, eggs, meat, nuts, freight, packaging and more.

None of that works without data. Our benchmarks and forecasts are built on data from partners: traders, exchanges, industry bodies, publishers, processors. Every new partner fills a gap in what we can show customers, or makes an existing benchmark better. That is the part of the business you would own.

Our partner network has grown fast and keeps growing: new commodities, new regions, and a serious push into the US. It now deserves someone who owns it full time.

This is a commercial role. You keep the relationships we have strong, negotiate licensing terms with data owners, lead renewals, and find the next opportunity inside a relationship that already works. If you like closing deals and also like building the systems that make partner management repeatable at scale, you will not run out of things to do here.

Why you should join us

Real ownership of a growing part of the business: The partner network is yours, and you get room to shape how it runs rather than inherit a process you have to follow.

Direct access to commercial leadership: Small team, short lines, quick decisions. Larger agreements you co-sign with the Head of Partnerships, who you report to.

You sit where the product gets made: Data Research turns partner data into benchmarks and Product set where we grow coverage next, so the effect of a deal you close is visible in the platform.

Your work directly enables our product and commercial teams: Our partners provide critical data and capabilities that make Vesper more valuable. Partnerships ensure Sales and Customer Success have the right partner offering to sell and deliver value to customers.

Bring structure and make it happen: We won't hand you a playbook. You'll be expected to identify where we need more structure, come up with your own ideas and solutions, and then execute them. We value strategic thinking, but we need someone who turns ideas into action.

Get out of the office: Roughly four to six trips a year to trade events and partner visits around the world, meeting the people you work with face to face.

What you'll be doing

Own the partner relationships: You are the person our data partners call. You run a review cadence that matches how important each partner is, visit the key ones face to face, and never let a relationship rest on a single contact.

Lead renewals: You own the renewal calendar and every conversation on it. A renewal is a commercial moment, not paperwork: wider scope, longer term, better commercials, more rights.

Negotiate with data owners: Licensing models, pricing, exclusivity, redistribution and attribution rights, how data may be used and displayed. You trade on more than price.

Scale how we manage partners: Partner tiering, a cadence per tier, one clear view of agreements and renewal dates in HubSpot, and a read on portfolio health at any moment. You design it and get Partnerships and Data Research working in it.

Grow the partners we have: More commodities, more regions, more benchmarks, and introductions into their group and network. The best new data usually comes from a partner who already trusts us.

Get new partners live: From signed agreement to data flowing in production, with Data Research and Product. You own the outcome, not the handover.

Keep the company close to the partners: Sales, CSM and Marketing need to know what each partner adds and what we can say publicly. Product and Data Research need to hear where the next coverage opportunity is.

What the first year looks like

First 30 days: You know the portfolio: who our partners are, what each contributes, what it costs and when the agreement comes up.

First 90 days: Every partner tiered and mapped, with terms, dates and a named owner in one place. The renewal calendar runs out of your hands, and you have led your first renewal.

First 6 months: Your review cadence is live, your top partners have had a proper business review, and at least one agreement is in better shape than it was.

First 12 months: Renewals land on time and on stronger terms, coverage has grown out of partners we already had, and the way we manage the network scales with the next twenty we sign.

What you'll bring
  • Experience: 3 to 6 years in partnerships, business development, account management, licensing or procurement, where you negotiated agreements yourself. Tell us about a renewal or an agreement you improved, and what you traded to get there.

  • A track record of building: You have built something, not just worked inside what was there. A cadence you introduced, a way of working you set up, a portfolio you brought order to.

  • Communication: Strong communicator in English, in writing and on a call, with owners, directors and C-level people. You can chair a review, raise an issue early, and say no without losing the relationship.

  • Commercial instinct and structure: You understand how the other side makes money, and you are the reason a lot of live threads keep moving.

  • Location: You are in or willing to move to the Amsterdam area, and happy to travel a few times a year.

  • Nice to have, not required: Experience in commodities, agriculture, food and beverage, trading, or market and financial data. Experience with data licensing, redistribution rights or content syndication. HubSpot. A second language relevant to our partner markets.

What you get
  • International team of 80+ people from all over the world and an inclusive culture

  • A flat company structure with an entrepreneurial environment with lots of autonomy and trust

  • Real ownership of a part of the business that is growing, with room to shape how it runs

  • Direct access to commercial leadership. Small team, short lines, quick decisions

  • Professional development opportunities that will help you and Vesper grow

  • Travel to industry events across our partner markets

  • A chance to see your work make a real difference and help transform a traditional industry

  • A beautiful canal-view office in the heart of Amsterdam, with hybrid working

  • Some additional cool perks: MacBook, fun monthly team activities, Friday drinks, company sport tournaments, and more!
