About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Generalist to join our HR team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a varied role that will provide comprehensive HR support across the employee lifecycle, with a particular focus on employee relations, stakeholder management, and HR administration.
The successful candidate will partner closely with managers and operational teams, ensuring HR processes are delivered effectively while supporting a positive employee experience. Experience working with operative/blue-collar workforces is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain relationships with external HR vendors and service providers.
- Partner with managers across the business, providing practical HR advice and guidance.
- Handle a range of employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary processes, grievances, absence management, and performance issues.
- Support day-to-day HR administration and generalist HR activities.
- Assist with employment contracts, contract amendments, and related documentation as required.
- Ensure HR records and employee data are maintained accurately and confidentially.
- Support HR projects and initiatives to improve people processes and employee engagement.
- Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
- Work closely with operational teams to support workforce needs and drive HR best practices.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a HR Generalist role.
- Strong employee relations experience with the ability to manage cases independently.
- Experience supporting operative, manufacturing, logistics, engineering, construction, or other blue-collar workforces.
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships with managers and stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience managing external vendors and third-party service providers.
- Knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- CIPD qualification (or working towards).
- Experience supporting high-volume operational environments.
- Previous experience preparing or administering employment contracts.
