Our business has continued to grow exponentially, and we are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to support the full employee lifecycle and day-to-day HR operations for our Netherlands-based workforce. This role serves as a trusted HR partner to employees and managers, ensuring efficient HR administration, compliance, employee support, and delivery of a positive employee experience.
The successful candidate will be fluent in both Dutch and English, possess strong knowledge of Dutch employment practices, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative onsite environment.
- This is a part-time (3 days) fixed term (1 year) position.
What you'll do
Employee Lifecycle Management
- Coordinate and manage employee onboarding activities, including employment contracts, new hire documentation, orientation, and system setup.
- Support employee offboarding processes, including exit documentation, final payroll coordination, asset return, and exit interviews.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation in compliance with Dutch labor regulations and GDPR requirements.
Employee Relations
Serve as the first point of contact for employee HR inquiries.
- Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and employment-related matters.
- Assist with employee relations cases, investigations, and conflict resolution while ensuring consistency and fairness.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
Support monthly payroll processing by coordinating employee data changes, leave information, and payroll inputs.
- Liaise with payroll providers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate payroll administration.
- Assist employees with payroll-related questions and issue resolution.
- Administer pension plans and support employee enrollment, changes, and communication regarding benefits.
Leave Management
Manage employee leave administration, including vacation, sickness absence, parental leave, and other statutory leave programs.
- Maintain accurate leave records and ensure compliance with Dutch employment legislation.
- Coordinate with managers and payroll providers regarding leave-related matters.
HR Operations & Compliance
Support implementation and communication of HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure HR processes remain compliant with local labor laws and company policies.
- Produce HR reports, metrics, and employee data as required.
- Assist with HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support annual HR processes, including performance reviews, compensation administration, and organizational updates.
What you’ll bring
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of HR Generalist experience.
- Working knowledge of Dutch employment law and HR practices.
- Experience supporting payroll administration and employee benefits programs.
- Experience managing onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, and leave administration.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluent in both English and Dutch.
Preferred
- Experience working in an international or multinational organization.
- Knowledge of Dutch pension administration and social security requirements.
- Experience supporting a consumer products, retail, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
