Job summary

Hitachi Energy The Netherlands B.V. is seeking a Project Safety Officer to lead day-to-day HSE on Benelux project sites. You will enforce policies, coach teams, and intervene to stop work when safety is at risk.

The role is site-based with frequent travel across Belgium and the Netherlands, requiring strong field presence, proactive risk management, and collaboration with site managers and the country HSE organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3-5 years of hands-on HSE experience in construction, energy, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
• Experience on multidisciplinary project sites and with subcontractor safety management.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary on-site HSE representative, promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with HSE standards and local laws.
• Lead safety coaching, daily site presence, and enforcement of safe working practices.
• Perform site inspections, safety walkdowns, and incident investigations with root-cause analysis.
