Job summary

U-People invites applications from an experienced Senior Naval Architect to lead the Naval Architecture scope for yacht building projects in a high-end engineering environment.

You will own the technical deliverables, review stability, weight management and hydrostatics, and ensure compliance with class rules and flag regulations throughout the construction process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or a similar discipline.
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience within the maritime industry.
  • Knowledge of stability, weight estimation and monitoring, inclining tests and sea trials.
  • Good understanding of class rules, flag state requirements and international maritime standards.
  • Experience reviewing and validating Naval Architecture calculations.
  • Good understanding of production processes and shipyard operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the Naval Architecture scope within assigned projects.
  • Review and validate engineering deliverables, including stability, weight management, hydrostatics and vessel performance.
  • Ensure compliance with project requirements, class rules, flag regulations and applicable maritime standards.
  • Translate technical and regulatory requirements into practical and buildable engineering solutions.
  • Coordinate technical matters with classification societies, flag administrations, suppliers and engineering partners.
  • Support production by resolving technical issues during construction and providing on-site engineering support when needed.
  • Coordinate technical activities during docking, launching, transport operations, inclining tests and sea trials.

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or a similar discipline

Job description

Are you an experienced Naval Architect who enjoys taking technical ownership of complex projects? Do you like combining engineering expertise with practical problem-solving throughout the construction process? We are looking for a Senior Naval Architect who will lead the Naval Architecture scope for yacht building projects.

Function:

In this role, you review and coordinate engineering deliverables, provide technical guidance throughout the project and support production whenever engineering challenges arise. You work closely with Project Management, Production, Engineering and external partners to ensure that technical solutions are compliant, practical and ready for execution.
