Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in machine building, automation, or industrial equipment.
• Strong 3D CAD skills and manufacturing knowledge.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into practical designs.
• Proficient communication in Dutch and English.

At Mpac Langen, we’re looking for a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our Service Engineering team in Wijchen. In this role, you'll work on innovative packaging automation solutions, designing customer‑specific upgrades, improvements, and machine modifications that keep our equipment performing at its best.

What You'll Be Doing

As part of our Service Engineering team, you'll be responsible for designing and developing mechanical solutions that support our customers and our growing global installed base of machinery.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing machine modifications, upgrades, and customer‑specific solutions
• Creating 3D mechanical designs, calculations, assembly drawings, and Bills of Materials
• Selecting materials and components while ensuring designs are practical, reliable, and manufacturable
• Troubleshooting and improving existing machine designs
• Supporting Operations, Service, Sales, and Project teams with technical expertise
• Participating in design reviews and presenting engineering solutions
• Acting as a technical lead on projects and mentoring junior engineers (Medior/Senior level)

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a curious, hands‑on engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges and taking ownership of their work.

You'll ideally have:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline
• Experience within machine building, automation, special‑purpose machinery, or industrial equipment
• Strong 3D CAD skills (Inventor, SolidWorks, Pro/Engineer or similar)
• Knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, manufacturing processes, fits, and tolerances
• The ability to translate customer requirements into practical engineering solutions
• Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English
