Job summary

Mpac Langen is seeking an experienced Electrical Assembler to join the Assembly team in Wijchen. You will build, wire, test, and commission packaging machinery and ensure safety and quality on every project.

The role involves reading electrical drawings, preparing materials, wiring panels, and supporting installation and service at customer sites as needed. Join a collaborative team focused on craftsmanship and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• MBO-level qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3-5 years' experience in electrical assembly or machine-building.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Valid NEN 3140 and VCA-VOL certification.

Responsibilities

• Preparing project kick-off, reviewing drawings and FDS, gathering materials and components.
• Building and wiring electrical panels and machine components, routing cables and installing infrastructure.
• Installing, commissioning, testing, and prepping machines for shipment or on-site service.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Electrical Assembler, you'll be responsible for the electrical assembly and commissioning of packaging machinery from initial build through to final testing.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Project Preparation

• Participating in project kick-off meetings.
• Reviewing electrical drawings, project documentation, and Functional Design Specifications (FDS).
• Gathering and checking materials, panels, tools, and components required for each project.
• Identifying and reporting any technical issues before assembly begins.

Electrical Assembly & Wiring

• Building and wiring electrical panels and machine components.
• Preparing, routing, and terminating cables.
• Installing cable trays, ducts, and electrical infrastructure.
• Labelling cables and components accurately.
• Connecting packaging machines and assisting with machine start‑up activities.
• Performing electrical measurements, fault finding, and troubleshooting.
• Working closely with Software Engineers to resolve electrical and control system issues.
• Preparing machines for shipment by dismantling electrical installations when required.

Installation & Service Support

• Supporting machine installation and commissioning at customer sites when required.
• Providing occasional on‑site service support.

Continuous Improvement

• Delivering projects within planned time budgets.
• Completing quality and project documentation.
• Supporting and mentoring junior technicians and contractors.
• Identifying opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and assembly processes.
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised work environment.

Essential Requirements

What We're Looking For

• MBO-level qualification (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years' experience in a similar electrical assembly or machine‑building role.
• Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Valid NEN 3140 and VCA-VOL certification.
• Sound knowledge of electrical installation techniques, materials, tools, and assembly processes.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
