Job summary

MEININGER Hotel Amsterdam City West is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our maintenance team and ensure smooth operation of guest areas, equipment, and facilities.

You will carry out preventive maintenance, coordinate with facilities contractors, manage inventories, and respond to guest and management requests promptly. Fluency in English is required and Dutch is preferred; a valid driving license B is a plus.

Qualifications

• Technical background or related education is required or preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Customer-oriented approach with proactive problem solving.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends when needed.
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus.
• Valid driver's license (B) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with FM contractors and FM department to develop maintenance plans.
• Maintain stock of maintenance inventory and equipment.

• Ensure interior and exterior cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel.
• Occasionally work weekends/public holidays as required.
• Perform preventive maintenance processes.

Maintenance Engineer (f/m/d) – MEININGER Hotel Amsterdam City West

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer (f/m/d) to join the maintenance team at MEININGER Hotel Amsterdam City West.

Responsibilities

• You perform visual checks of communal areas and hotel grounds, execute exchange of wear and tear parts (light bulbs, mattresses, etc.), basic repairs (furniture and bathroom equipment), small painting works, etc.
• You monitor and maintain utility areas and equipment
• You work closely with FM contractors and FM department to develop and execute maintenance plans
• You are responsible for and keep stock of all maintenance inventory of supplies and equipment
• You respond to customer and management inquiries and requests and document them accordingly
• You are accountable for the interior and exterior cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel
• You’re flexible and understand that working in the Hotel industry occasionally can mean having to work during weekends and on public holidays
• You have experience with preventive maintenance processes

Qualifications

• You have technical background or education, relevant practical experience is a plus
• You enjoy helping people and getting things done
• You work efficiently and independently, organizing multiple projects, tasks and activities
• You enjoy a diverse working environment and are flexible to work weekdays and weekends
• You are fluent in English and preferably in Dutch
• You possess Driver's license B
