Job summary

MEININGER Hotels is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join the maintenance team at our Amsterdam City West hotel. You will perform visual checks, replace wear-and-tear parts, handle basic repairs, and monitor hotel utilities.

You will work with FM contractors to execute maintenance plans and manage inventory. Flexibility for weekends/Public holidays and a focus on preventive maintenance are essential. English fluency is required, Dutch preferred.

Qualifications

• You have a technical background or education; relevant practical experience is a plus.
• You enjoy helping people and getting things done.
• You work efficiently and independently, organizing multiple projects, tasks and activities.
• You enjoy a diverse working environment and are flexible to work weekdays and weekends.
• You are fluent in English and preferably in Dutch.
• You possess a driver’s license B.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual checks of communal areas and hotel grounds; replace wear‑and‑tear parts (bulbs, mattresses); basic repairs.
• Monitor and maintain utility areas and equipment.
• Collaborate with FM contractors and FM department to develop maintenance plans.
• Keep stock of maintenance inventory and supplies.
• Respond to customer and management inquiries and document them accordingly.
• Ensure interior and exterior cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel.
• Occasionally work weekends and public holidays as required.
• Apply preventive maintenance processes.
