Centre People Appointments is recruiting a Logistics Procurement & Distribution Specialist to join its Amsterdam logistics team. The role focuses on managing performance and cost control across warehouses, 3PLs, and freight forwarders, driving supplier performance, cost reduction, and contract management.

You will support the Distribution team with warehouse-related topics, advise on logistics matters for internal branches, and lead continuous improvement across the network.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 5–7 years' experience in Logistics or Supply Chain.
• Procurement or supplier management experience for logistics services.
• Strong cost and performance analytics.
• Experience in KPI-driven environments.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.

Aufgaben

• Monitor KPIs across warehouses, 3PLs, and freight forwarders and drive improvements.
• Attend performance reviews with logistics partners and ensure SLA levels are met.
• Control warehousing, transportation, and freight costs; analyze cost drivers.
• Validate logistics invoices, challenge extra charges, drive cost reductions.
• Benchmark warehouse and freight rates against market standards.
• Manage supplier contracts, renewals, and renegotiations.
• Collaborate with Logistics, Sales, Finance, Planning, and Distribution teams.
• Support warehouse operations and guidance for branch inquiries.
• Improve communication and processes between warehouses and branches.
• Lead continuous improvement across logistics and transport network.

An international company is currently recruiting a Logistics Procurement & Distribution Specialist to join its Logistics team in Amsterdam.

The role will focus on managing operational performance and cost control across external warehouses, 3PL partners, and freight forwarders. The successful candidate will drive supplier performance, logistics cost reduction, contract management, and continuous improvement across the supply chain network.

The role will also support the Distribution team with warehouse-related topics and provide guidance to internal branches on logistics-related matters.

Main Responsibilities

• Control warehousing, transportation, and freight costs and analyse key cost drivers

Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field
• 5–7 years' experience in Logistics or Supply Chain
• Proven experience in procurement or supplier management, preferably for logistics services
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on cost and operational performance
• Experience working in KPI-driven environments
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Written and spoken Dutch and English
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and change/optimisation processes is advantageous
• Willingness to travel

Conditions

• Location: Amsterdam, the Netherlands
• Job Type: full-time, initially 1 year contract (intended to be extended)
