A specialist in the development and sale of Oriental food based in Amstelveen are looking for a Logistics Administrator (purchasing assistant) for their expanding business.
Working in their international team, the Logistics Administrator will have strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Business level English will be expected, and an understanding of Japanese culture/language would be highly advantageous. Training will be provided.
TYPE:
Full-time role, initially 1 year contract (there is potential to become permanent)
WORKING HOURS:
9:00 - 17:30, Monday to Friday (30 minutes lunch break)
SALARY:
€2,700 – 3,100 per month, depending on experience + performance bonus (0-3 months), holiday allowance, transportation fee, pension, 25 days annual leave
START:
1st Dec 2025 (can be earlier)
LOCATION:
Amstelveen, the Netherlands (After training, 1-3 days working from home is acceptable)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Correspond with clients, group companies, warehouse companies and forwarding agents
- Arrange sales orders: check client orders, draft and send order confirmations, prepare shipping instructions, check products for shipment and manage loading schedules
- Arrange export operations and related documentation
- Draft and send invoices and maintain accounts receivable list
- Communicate with customers regarding payments and maintain relationships with logistics partners
- Resolve daily logistics issues and propose improvements for logistics and operations
- Carry out administrative tasks related to monthly closing
Purchase Administration
- Arrange purchase orders and manage shipping schedules and import operations based on purchase officer’s instructions
- Resolve issues related to logistics and importing
- Create and maintain product specifications and labels
- Perform administrative tasks related to HACCP management and item registration
- Carry out administrative tasks related to monthly closing
General Administration
- Support overall sales and purchasing operations including document filing, data entry, and report preparation in Excel and Word
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Able to start as soon as possible (by 1st December at the latest)
- Experience in import/export administration within the food industry preferred
- Business level of fluency in English (spoken and written)
- Japanese language skills would be highly advantageous
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build good relationships with clients and colleagues
- Team-oriented, proactive, and responsible
- Able to work independently with strong organisational and operational management skills
