That Recruitment Company is seeking a Lead Data & Platform Engineer in the Netherlands. You will shape the Azure data platform strategy, lead hands-on architecture work, and mentor senior data engineers across manufacturing, logistics and finance projects.

The role emphasizes architecture, governance, security and knowledge sharing, with a focus on delivering scalable data solutions and driving the practice forward.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering or architecture.
• Knowledge of data modelling, schema design and end-to-end pipelines.
• Experience with Python, SQL, PySpark or Polars.
• Understanding of CI/CD, DevOps and DataOps.
• Infrastructure as Code experience is a plus.
• Airflow or Dagster knowledge is beneficial.
• Strong communication skills in Dutch and English.

Are you an experienced Data Engineer or Data Architect who enjoys shaping technical direction, advising clients and helping other engineers grow?

We’re looking for a Lead Data & Platform Engineering to help develop an expanding Azure Data Platform practice.

This is a hands‑on technical leadership role focused on architecture, strategy and knowledge sharing. People management sits with the Team Lead, allowing you to focus on technical quality and impact.

What you’ll do

• Design scalable and cost-effective Azure data platforms
• Translate business challenges into technical solutions and roadmaps
• Advise clients during sales and project discovery processes
• Define architectural standards, blueprints and best practices
• Select technologies such as Fabric, ADF, Databricks and Purview
• Shape governance, security and monitoring strategies
• Lead architecture phases and mentor senior Data Engineers
• Contribute to the wider Data Platform vision and offering

What you bring

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering or architecture
• Knowledge of data modelling, schema design and end-to-end pipelines
• Experience with Python, SQL, PySpark or Polars
• Understanding of CI/CD, DevOps and DataOps
