Job summary

Park Plaza Victoria Amsterdam is seeking a Junior Sous Chef to support the kitchen leadership in delivering fresh, seasonal dishes in a fast-paced environment.

You will work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef, coaching junior staff and ensuring high standards of food safety and service. The role offers diverse service periods and development opportunities within PPHE Hotel Group across Europe.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef in a busy restaurant, hotel, or high-volume kitchen.
• Passion for fresh, seasonal ingredients and delivering high-quality dishes.
• Experience supervising, coaching, or training junior team members.
• Good understanding of food safety, HACCP, and kitchen standards.

Responsibilities

• Support the kitchen leadership team in delivering fresh, high-quality dishes.
• Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in daily kitchen operations.
• Lead by example and mentor junior team members.
• Be flexible to support breakfast, lunch, dinner, and events as required.

• You have experience as a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef in a busy restaurant, hotel, or high-volume kitchen
• You are passionate about fresh, seasonal ingredients and delivering consistently high-quality dishes
• You support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in the daily running of the kitchen and enjoy leading by example
• You have experience supervising, coaching, or training junior team members
• You thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain organised under pressure
• You have a good understanding of food safety, HACCP, and kitchen operational standards
