Job summary

Park Plaza Victoria Amsterdam is seeking a Junior Sous Chef to support the kitchen leadership in delivering fresh, high-quality dishes while developing your culinary skills within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

You’ll work under the Sous Chef and Head Chef, embracing our values of Trust, Respect, Teamwork, Enthusiasm, Commitment, and Care to create memorable dining experiences for guests across rooms and events.

Qualifications

• Experience as Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef in a busy restaurant, hotel, or high-volume kitchen.
• Passion for fresh, seasonal ingredients and high-quality dishes.
• Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in daily kitchen operations and lead by example.
• Experience supervising or training junior team members.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay organized under pressure.
• Solid understanding of food safety, HACCP, and kitchen standards.

Responsibilities

• Support kitchen leadership in delivering high-quality dishes in a timely manner.
• Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in daily kitchen operations.
• Lead by example and supervise junior team members when required.
• Contribute to an efficient, clean, and compliant kitchen environment.
• Support flexible service periods including breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and events.

• You have experience as a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef in a busy restaurant, hotel, or high-volume kitchen
• You are passionate about fresh, seasonal ingredients and delivering consistently high-quality dishes
• You support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in the daily running of the kitchen and enjoy leading by example
• You have experience supervising, coaching, or training junior team members
• You thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain organised under pressure
• You have a good understanding of food safety, HACCP, and kitchen operational standards
• You are flexible and willing to support different service periods, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and events when required
