Rabobank is seeking a Junior Data Scientist for its Data & Analytics Early Career Program in Utrecht. You will learn to build AI solutions using traditional ML and emerging generative AI, joining the CLUE team to improve client interactions with models like clustering and propensity scoring.

You will work in a mixed environment, focusing on data engineering, ML engineering and infrastructure, while developing skills through workshops and hands-on projects over 18 months.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Mathematics or equivalent.
• Experience with traditional ML/statistics and AI models.
• 0–2 years of work experience after graduating.
• Experience with Python.
• Interest in traditional ML and generative AI (Agentic AI).
• Understand the technical infrastructure behind AI solutions, not only models.
• Clear communication of technical ideas to colleagues.
• Excellent command of English and Netherlands residence.

Job Description

Would you like to learn and contribute to an existing AI Product that combines data from every angle of the bank, using predictive machine learning models and is currently adapting generative and agentic AI techniques?

Summary

As a Junior Data Scientist at Rabobank, you will learn to build and maintain artificial intelligence solutions in practice. Within the Area Analytics Accelerations you will join the CLUE (Client Lifecycle Understanding Engine) team and contribute to building and improving models and analytical solutions to improve our client interaction, like client clustering models and propensity models for product suggestion. You will primarily be using traditional machine learning techniques complemented with generative and agentic AI. The team is responsible for the end-to-end product, from design to actual production environment.

You have a combined interest in Data Science, MLOps and Integration engineering, where Integration engineering is the discipline of connecting applications, platforms and data sources.

You will work with Python, Databricks, traditional machine learning, generative and agentic AI to create scalable and reliable solutions for complex banking challenges.

The role is part of the Advanced Analytics Early Career Program.

What do you bring?

Must-haves:

• You have completed, or will soon complete, a master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Mathematics or a comparable technical studies.
• Your studies, thesis, internship, project or personal work demonstrate knowledge of traditional machine learning/statistics and the implementation of AI models.
• You have 0-2 years of working experience after graduating.
• You have experience with Python.
