Job summary

Hunkemöller is launching the Best Internship in Retail (BIIR) program, starting September 2026, joining 50+ fellow interns. This internship focuses on compensation & benefits analytics, policy development, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced, international environment.

You will support data-driven insights, work 4 days per week (thesis possible), and benefit from an assigned buddy, hybrid work, and a monthly allowance. English proficiency and strong Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3rd or 4th year student of a HBO/WO study in HR, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
• Available for a minimum of 4 days per week (thesis possible).
• You have strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills; you enjoy working with data and turning insights into action.
• A proactive, curious, and creative thinker who is able to connect the dots and challenge the status quo.
• Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with data analysis tools, visualization, or AI tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support compensation and benefits analyses, reporting, and process mapping.
• Work with HR analytics and people data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities—connecting the dots between data, business needs, and outcomes.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of Compensation and Benefits policies, guidelines, and processes.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders across Legal, Finance, Store Operations, and Regional HR teams to ensure alignment and compliance.
• Prepare clear, professional, and on-brand presentations and materials for internal stakeholders.
• Support the Compensation and Benefits Manager with projects related to annual performance review cycle, company bonus, EU Pay Transparency, day-to-day activities, project coordination, and ad-hoc problem solving in a fast-paced, international environment.

What will you do?

• Internship Allowance: 450€ per month (gross) with 8+ holiday days (based on 40h/week).
• Travel Allowance: Max. 23€ per day (based on your travel distance), if you are not eligible for the free Student OV Chipcard.
• Additional Benefits: Access to 25% staff discount and a company laptop. Also, company gatherings like Townhalls and drinks.

Eligibility Criteria

For This Internship, You Need To Be Available For 5 Months Starting In September 2026. Please Note That Your Application Will Only Be Considered If You Are Enrolled At a School Or University For The Full Duration Of The Internship.

• You are an EU citizen,
• You are on a Family/Partner visa, or
• You are a non-EU student studying in the Netherlands, and you meet at least one of the following requirements: (1) The internship is a mandatory part of your curriculum, OR (2) your university is willing to sign a third-party agreement (Nuffic Agreement).
